OK, I’ll freely admit that I am not one for fishing in MMORPGs. I know that many games have it and that there’s a subsection of the community that is strangely fascinated with standing stock-still and watching a tiny doohickey bob in the water, but I’ve never really gotten on board with it. Maybe if a game would let me fish with dynamite?
But I’m not so blind as to assume that every MMO with fishing boasts an identical system to all of the others. Some have put a little more thought into it, making fishing more into a minigame than a chore. When I tried World of Fishing a few weeks back, I was pretty impressed with how the fishing mechanic worked in that game to make each catch an interesting and challenging encounter.
