WRUP: Don’t tell me how to do things edition

And here we go again.

Listen, there are things you don’t need to tell me how to do. Don’t tell me how to raise my kids. I don’t have any, so that’s an academic topic, but if that ever changes, I still don’t want to be told. Also, don’t tell me how extensively I’m screwing up my kids. Don’t tell me how to double-jump; I want to figure it out. I have theories. Don’t tell me how to dance. Don’t tell me that this isn’t the kind of concert with dancing. Don’t tell me how to keep the beat. Don’t tell me that the police will arrest me if I fail to keep the beat; I’d prefer to be surprised.

Don’t tell me how bad I smell; I already know. Do feel free to give me deodorant, though. Don’t tell me how to write nonsense headers for What Are You Playing. Don’t tell me the end of Game of Thrones; I don’t care about spoilers, but I also don’t care about the plot. Don’t ever tell me what I can’t do, don’t stop thinking about tomorrow, and don’t tell me about the Transformers. I probably already know.

Andrew Ross (@dengarsw): Windows 10 delivered a fatal blow to my gaming laptop, but the timing’s not too bad. At least I’ll have some time with Star Fox Zero and Star Fox Guard. I’m especially interested in the latter, since I’ve heard there’s some online play and it might be useful for my students as part of my games and motivation project (one new member sounds like she’s played an online Final Fantasy game!). I’ll also spend some time in Hearthstone preparing for the new expansion and changes. I’ll certainly need to be redoing some decks soon!

Brianna Royce (@nbrianna, blog): Hopefully I’ll be in Guild Wars 2 a bit this weekend (my verdict on the new dailies is not great right now), but between all the con coverage and pre-guest cleanup, I doubt I’m going to be living in it the way I’d want!

Eliot Lefebvre (@Eliot_Lefebvre, blog): Saturday is going to involve being stuck driving up and down to Boston, but I’ll be spending as much time as I can with some Final Fantasy XIV and Final Fantasy XI. Sunday is going to involve writing about stuff from Boston, but my plans are otherwise the same.

Justin Olivetti (@Sypster, blog): I’m trudging my way through Osgiliath in Lord of the Rings Online, and will probably take breaks to trudge my way through City of the Sun God in The Secret World. What is up with horrible city zones in otherwise great MMOs?

MJ Guthrie (@MJ_Guthrie, blog): I will be seeing just how long I can survive in ARK: Survival Evolved‘s new ice cave.  After my jaunt into the swamp one, I don’t think it will be too long at all! I also want to move along in Path of Exile‘s Act III so I can finish the rest of my Trials of Ascension.  Amid those adventures I will be exploring Landmark and continuing the PvE campaign in HEX.

Patron thatchefdude: This weekend I’ll be taking a break from FFXIV to Black Desert Online some time. I’m interested in trying out the Tamer class. Other than that, just some BBQ on Sunday with friends before Game of Thrones returns!

Your turn!
