Call of Juarez

I’ve been playing Call of Juarez: Gunslinger here lately. It’s nothing special, really, but it is a competent wild west shooter that I picked up for pocket change on Steam quite a while ago.

While the gameplay is overly familiar, the setting is not, and the soundtrack is pretty great, too, if you’re into twangy atmospherics, slide guitars, and the like. I’d certainly like to see an MMORPG set somewhere on the American frontier, and frankly it baffles me that no studio has done so yet.

What about you, MOP readers? Would you play a wild west MMO? Vote after the cut!

Absolutely YES! especially if it is packed with beautiful scenarios and great solo storyline, just like Red Dead Redemption.

Ravven The good news is that there’s a good chance that Rockstar will do Red Dead Online the way they did GTA: Online (and hopefully learn from all the mistakes and make it better).

Depends on how it’s made. I imagine a game where there are no factions but you can choose from a number of [logical] races (e.g. African Americans, Caucasians, Native Americans, etc) and genders. There are “guilds” that you can join and quit (and also be kicked from). You’re not a good guy or bad guy but you hold some kind of Karma based on your actions and that Karma would determine how you rank in certain guilds (such as the Sheriffs or a group of Bandits). Player made guilds are also possible, of course. There would need to be some kind of system where Negative Karma players can be arrested. A system where PCs can kidnap NPCs. And some sort of electoral system that both PCs and NPCs can be voted into and out of. There would also be mini-games and some sort of crafting system.

I could go on and on but one huge point is that I would like it to play like Red Dead Redemption.
