The MMOs of the Steam Summer 2019 Sale

12

Valve’s summer Steam sale is once again upon us, this year with a cute racing theme and minigame for folks into that. Here’s what’s notable in the pile this year and a bit beyond Steam too, assuming you can make it through all the “bad gateway” errors. You’ve got until July 9th to fill your cart and make a clean getaway.

On Steam…

Outside of Steam…

Do pipe up in the comments if you spy more your fellow readers might want to know about! And try not to overspend. You know who you are!

Probably the first year I wont buy anything in the steam sale . I am tempted to get latest WoW expansion on sale because I intend to play classic later this year and if I am paying a subscription it might be fun to do some of the Battlegrounds on the live servers as well .

Its a pity they haven’t had Dungeons and Dragons Online on sale on steam for a few years I think I might have been tempted to get some expansions and give it a good try .

Just a heads up about Black Death its often on sale on Greenmangaming for a pound .

One game I would consider buying during this sale:

Gloria Victis – Game has come a long way over the past few years. Fun game especially at that price. PvP is getting better…

A game I will revisit:
Life is Feudal is a fun game right up to the point of someone running you over on horseback just for shits and gigs. Also, having to pay taxes on your property is a huge pain in the neck. This is a tough game to enjoy if you choose to play solo.

Going to shamelessly plug my favorite game on the list. Foxhole just released a massive update that unified and expanded the game world, in addition to reworking a ton of mechanics. Imagine a Planetside-like game except that every vehicle, bullet, gun, grenade, and building has to be built and delivered by players. And it’s a top down shooter instead of FPS.

I’ve heard bad things about ESO on Steam. For some reason there are problems that pop up which make the game unplayable for days at a time.

I had no issues with ESO on Steam personally.

And the EVE Online starter pack now comes with… say it with me… ONE MEEELLION skill points, something that is causing consternation in the community.

No kidding? I hadn’t heard this…yes, I can see this being an issue for the existing player base.

Lol, no it doesn’t. It comes with 250,000. Just bought and used it for my alpha account.

Even if it was a million it would be of little impact to anyone actively playing, except perhaps to provide more targets.

One million sp is honestly nothing in Eve Online, and I find it hard to believe anyone who’s been playing any length of time would even care about an amount that small.

The only players who would be impressed and/or intimidated by that are other newbies, and heck, they could get their free million sp, too. ;)
