EA’s 3v3 arena shooter Rocket Arena launches on July 14

Yep, there’s another multiplayer team-based shooter on the horizon, but the catch with the upcoming Rocket Arena is that everyone wears rocket packs and the objective is to knock opponents out of the arena, meaning preventing the latter involves using the former to get back into the fight unless your character has taken too many hits. If this sounds like something that interests you, then you’ll want to mark July 14th on your calendar, as that’s when the game goes live.

In addition to the rocket-powered twist of the gameplay, Rocket Arena also touts several different modes including Rocketball, the point capturing Mega Rocket mode, the team deathmatch Knockout mode, and Treasure Hunt where players earn points by holding a treasure chest or getting coins. These modes all are available in casual play, while ranked play is on offer for Knockout, Rocketball and Mega Rocket.

Rocket Arena also features a wide selection of maps, a number of heroes that can be customized with Artifacts and various items and cosmetics earned by gaining XP through play, and cross-platform gameplay between PC and console versions. All of the details are outlined on the overview section of the game’s site, and our own Sam Kash took a peek and shared his impressions as well.
