The Daily Grind: Are there any MMOs you want a mobile spinoff from?

Aw, that's boring.

I feel like Warcraft Arclight Rumble was at once exactly what I expected from the promise of a mobile Warcraft title and yet simultaneously disappointing. Like, I didn’t really expect anything different, nor did I ever expect it to have anything other than charming visuals and gameplay I couldn’t be bothered to care about, but it still feels… limited. Like someone spun the wheel and just put together a mobile Warcraft game based entirely on stock gameplay elements. Another by-the-numbers you’ve-played-this-before-but-now-we-own it sort of production. You know, like Heroes of the Storm, but on mobile.

But then again, there’s also the question of whether or not anyone here (staff or reader) would actually want a mobile spinoff title in the first place. It’s fair to ask if perhaps part of the problem is that I am not the target audience to begin with, and thus my evaluation of interest is fundamentally skewed. So let’s branch out a little bit. Are there any MMOs you want a mobile spinoff from in the first place? Doesn’t matter what sort of game; we’re asking if you’d even be interested in the idea of a mobile spinoff game, not the nature of it.

Every morning, the Massively Overpowered writers team up with mascot Mo to ask MMORPG players pointed questions about the massively multiplayer online roleplaying genre. Grab a mug of your preferred beverage and take a stab at answering the question posed in today’s Daily Grind!
