A funny and incredibly predictable thing happens in the comments of our Most Underrated award every year: Somebody, usually several somebodies, informs us that in fact, what we think is underrated is actually overrated. A few years of that and we decided to make it a whole thing: It’s time for us to vote on the most overrated MMO of the year.
Do note we’re limiting the poll to 20 or so of the major MMOs that are still live in the west right now (no point punching down at lil baby indies). What was the most overrated MMO of the past year, specifically? What online game just does not deserve whatever accolades or hype or awards it got in 2022 from the MMO community or the broader gaming industry? Pick up to three!
