The Daily Grind: Have you ever had an MMO that serves as your guilty pleasure?

I mean, perhaps you should, but...

As a rule, I don’t do guilty pleasures. It’s not something that I personally believe in. Not in the sense that I’m unfamiliar with it, but I generally feel like if I’m guilty about something that I’m playing that’s probably a sign I shouldn’t be playing it in the first place. But, you know… the thing about goals is that no one hits all of them all the time, and heaven knows that there are games I’ve really enjoyed with a subtle sense of “I feel faintly guilty about playing this game.”

For the record, we’re talking about things like how Enter the Matrix was not very good but I kept playing it, not, say, awful wizard games.

Still, there are times when you know a game is undersupported, missing key features, has predatory monetization, or has other elements that really should make it onto your “do not play” list… but you’re still playing it. Maybe even loving the heck out of it. So have you ever had an MMO that serves as a guilty pleasure?

Every morning, the Massively Overpowered writers team up with mascot Mo to ask MMORPG players pointed questions about the massively multiplayer online roleplaying genre. Grab a mug of your preferred beverage and take a stab at answering the question posed in today’s Daily Grind!
