The Daily Grind: Do MMO festivals stress you the heck out?

Generally, on principle, I am not against special holidays in MMORPGs. They break up the monotony, get the community together, and get us involved in all sorts of goofy, non-combat activities. When an MMO pulls off a great festival, then you know you have something to look forward to when it comes back around next year.

And yet.

And yet festivals stress me out. I wish they wouldn’t, but they do. Their time-limited nature combined with desirable rewards means that I’ve got to figure out if my real-world schedule will allow me to do and get everything that I want. It’s even worse when a festival rolls around at a rather inconvenient time for me, which could be prevented if the developers simply asked me, personally, if I was good to go for all this.

Do MMO holidays and festivals ever stress you out? Do you feel beholden to them, bowed under by the weight of time limitations? Do you wish you could rise up in revolt and bring the fight to them? Does that last question make no sense?

Every morning, the Massively Overpowered writers team up with mascot Mo to ask MMORPG players pointed questions about the massively multiplayer online roleplaying genre. Grab a mug of your preferred beverage and take a stab at answering the question posed in today’s Daily Grind!
