If making an MMORPG in today’s climate is a risky proposition, it must be doubly so for small outfits with limited resources and hype. Yet our love of underdogs — and their ambitious and creative natures — is what can make us want to see them succeed in the end.

For example, I’ve been rooting for Monsters & Memories ever since I initially heard the pitch from Niche Worlds Cult. So I do hope that it defies the odds and becomes a respectably fun launched game one day.

Are there any small-ish indie MMO projects that caught your eye and have you zealous for their success?

Every morning, the Massively Overpowered writers team up with mascot Mo to ask MMORPG players pointed questions about the massively multiplayer online roleplaying genre. Grab a mug of your preferred beverage and take a stab at answering the question posed in today’s Daily Grind!
