VR MMO Zenith strives for ‘a more sustainable vision’ as it shuts down three servers

The days certainly appear to be numbered for Zenith now that its studio confirmed that it’s moving the virtual reality MMO into maintenance mode. But the question now is, how many days and what quality of life might players expect from it?

Part of that answer came this week as the studio announced that it’s shutting down a trio of underperforming servers while leaving the other 10 up and running. This is to help consolidate players and improve the overall MMO experience.

“As we look towards a more sustainable vision for Zenith, we’ve reviewed the number of shards currently online,” the devs posted. “We found a handful of shards go unused in comparison to others, and have decided to retire these shards during the release of Season 4 in August 2024 (release window TBA). Reminder: Accounts and characters aren’t locked to any shard or region, so no progress or data will be lost.”
