It’s impossible to deny that Minecraft is a juggernaut IP, but is it ironclad enough to withstand the withering potential of box office failure? Whether anyone wants to or not, we’re all going to find out on April 4th, 2025, which is when A Minecraft Movie will arrive in theaters.
The film’s cast features Jason Momoa, Jack Black, Emma Myers, Danielle Brooks, Sebastian Eugene Hansen, and Jennifer Coolidge, with Ninety-Five Senses and Nacho Libre director Jared Hess in the big chair in what looks like an isekai movie because that concept worked real well for Monster Hunter.

The teaser trailer that debuted today is already receiving plenty of tilted heads and perked eyebrow responses from fans along with lots of jokes about the movie’s visuals. However, there is one reply that might encapsulate most people’s reactions: “Looks terrible we’ll be watching no matter what.”
