Wednesday, May 27th, is a pretty important day for Phantasy Star Online 2. Not only is the MMORPG finally making its way to PC players in the West, but it also is the start of a special event where players who join Alliances will get some free goodies. The event runs between May 27th and June 9th, and grants players several goodies depending on the size of Alliance they join up with, including a Two-Tailed Scarf accessory, an emote, and SG20 Tickets, which are worth 20 Star Gems each. Star Gems, for the record, are a special currency that can be used to get items in the SG Shop and Mission Pass Tiers, among other things.

SEGA has also announced a multi-tiered wedding event, for some reason. It even has bingo.

“Late May into early June provides great weather for many places around the world and in the world of PSO2. This makes it the ideal time to hold ceremonies such as weddings, and though this time is also peppered with bouts of rain, the effect of rain is honored in these ceremonies that also celebrate new growth. To acknowledge this time of new beginnings, operatives will observe changes on their Ships and the planets they visit. Seasonal Client Orders, new Urgent Quests, changing décor in certain areas of the Ship, and more can be expected with the start of the WEDDING EVENT!”

In other news, the game will come down overnight tonight for preload for the PC launch. According to replies on Twitter, preloading begins at 1 a.m. EDT tomorrow morning, with launch at 8 a.m. EDT. Happy patching!
