This weekend is a big one for Black Desert, as Pearl Abyss is hosting Heidel Ball both inside and outside the game, and the outside is pretty damn spectacular this Ball. That’s because this Ball is being held at Château de Beynac in Beynac-et-Cazenac, France – yes, literally the medieval castle on which the in-game Heidel village is based.
Alas for most of our team and readers, we can’t all go in person, but Pearl Abyss is hosting an in-game watch party too on Saturday, June 22nd, at 10 a.m. EDT. All players have to do is bring their event chair to the event server and head to Heidel Castle, then sit down and watch. Oh, and you have to wear the required balloon headband. Sorry, I don’t make the rules. “For a smoother event experience, please park your mounts at the castle gate,” PA suggests.
Ahead of the event, however, the team has pushed out a fairly meaty patch focused on class balancing. “[W]e’ve made significant changes to each character’s skill hit counts and revamped the accuracy, Damage Reduction, and evasion systems. Given the scale of these updates, thorough testing was necessary,” the PA says. The patch notes suggest a 70-80% reduction in hit counts, an evasion system overhaul, the new damage reduction system meant to slow down PvP one-shotting, and a reduction in weight given to modifiers from gear. The patch notes are massive, so you’re going to want to give it a deeper look – especially for whatever class you play.
