Fortnite has added the Cybertruck to the game, and players are marshaling to kill it on sight

Burn it with fire... before it potentially does it to itself

If you’re among those players in Fortnite who, for whatever reason, are eager to get behind the wheel of the in-game version of Tesla’s hideous, slipshod, and actively unsafe EV, you might want to keep your head on a swivel because players are apparently going to come for your in-game life.

The Cybertruck was added earlier this week as a reward for completing a series of nine quests in a Summer Road Trip event or by purchasing a bundle. However, the addition of the mobile pile of triangles to the game has not been met with resounding acclaim, with multiple players openly resolving to annihilate anyone found driving the angular vehicle; at least one player is providing the pro tip that it has a real big windshield that’s perfect for landing headshots.

What’s more, developers of the battle royale shooter are actively supporting this proliferating kill order: Associate producer Robby Williams has given the “truck” the middle finger, while Epic Games producer Kyle Wynn points out that social media reactions and voting with a wallet absolutely works while also encouraging its destruction.

Tangentially, if you happen to see an image that claimed the Cybertruck was being removed from Fortnite because it was crashing the shooter, don’t believe it; it’s a fake, even if it is a funny one. At least take comfort in the fact that the in-game one can perform feats that the real-world equivalent is wildly incapable of.
