Presumably, someone clawed into a pot full of IP names and gaming sub-genres, tossed it at a wall, and saw the words “racing game,” “rogue-lite,” and “Transformers” stick. Or there was some forethought into how to make a new game stand out. However it happened, we are all now informed of the existence of Transformers: Galactic Trials, a new game from developer 3DClouds and publisher Outright Games that promises “a fusion of racing and rogue-lite gameplay” when it releases on Friday, October 11th.

Transformers: Galactic Trials finds the Autobots and Decepticons on an important mission to recover the Prime Relics, which grants significant power to those who hold them and have been stolen by Nemesis Prime. Battling and racing their way through the single-player Galactic Trials game mode, players will uncover relics to enhance their speed, damage, and handling. To shift gears and test their driving skills against a friend, TRANSFORMERS fans can compete in the game’s Arcade Mode equipped with local multiplayer for up to two people.”

The game will offer up 11 different characters to control, each bringing two unique skills and eight customizable weapons as they race through 10 different tracks. The single-player mode drops its big name character hand early, letting players control Optimus Prime, Bumblebee, and Megatron in the early going, while additional characters are unlocked as progress is made.

Transformers: Galactic Trials will release on every single console platform and on PC when it drops. A gameplay trailer can be seen below for more.
