WRUP: Your honor, I motion for lizards edition

Mr. Lefebvre: Your honor, the defense motions for lizards.
The Court: Counsel, could you repeat?
Mr. Lefebvre: Your honor, the defense motions for lizards. Your honor, the defense motions for lizards. Your honor, the defense motions for lizards.
The Court: Approach.

Mr. Lefebvre: Given the nature of lizards as long, cuddly scale babies, the defense feels that it is important to motion for lizards.
The Court: Does the prosecution have any objection?
Mr. Lefebvre wearing a false moustache and imitating a Russian accent: I am afraid of spaghetti.
The Court: Motion passes. Lizards

Lizards flood into the courtroom from all possible points of entry.

Mr. Lefebvre wearing a false moustache and imitating a Russian accent: The prosecution motions for What Are You Playing.
Mr. Lefebvre: Objection!
The Court: Overruled; please state your weekend plans in the comments.

Andrew Ross (@dengarsw): Gonna be a mobile weekend. By the time you read this, I’ll already be level capped in Pokemon Go! My sister’s coming over though, so that means more mobile gaming, especially since my brother’s also doing Animal Crossing Pocket Camp while Fire Emblem Heroes added more customization. Maybe I can get both siblings to do some Mario Kart 8 Deluxe or the Bomberman game I got for the Switch.

Brianna Royce (@nbrianna, blog): Probably Guild Wars 2? Depends how my kid is feeling and how much time I have. December is always the worst for free time to actually play! But Tina informed me I’m living under a rock if I haven’t finished Path of Fire yet, so I should probably get back to it.

Eliot Lefebvre (@Eliot_Lefebvre, blog): It’s been a lousy week all around; I’m going to drown my sorrows in Final Fantasy XIV, Secret World Legends, and World of Warcraft. Possibly some other single-player stuff, too.

Justin Olivetti (@Sypster, blog): I’m back to playing – and healing – on my Druid in World of Warcraft, so she needs some of my attention. I also need to penetrate the inner sanctum of the Fear Nothing Foundation in Secret World Legends and clock in some decent time in Lord of the Rings Online.

Patron Pierre: Destiny 2 is still my main plate these days. On Tuesday, the Curse of Osiris DLC will launch, and I’m hyped by this new content. I’m exploring different options for another game of interest, but my backlog is so large that I cannot decide what to play next. It’s a nice issue to encounter, as it means there are loads of great games, and we, gamers, are extremely lucky these days. Enjoy your weekend, MOP readers. And don’t forget to tell us what you’re playing this weekend in the comments. Cheers!

Your turn!

Between the weather, toothaches, pain meds, lack of sleep, and home repairs I haven’t been having a great week. I’ve been in a pissy mood, so I’ve tried avoid posting throughout the week simply because I don’t want to act like a dick. But the upside to not typing up stuff on MOP is more time to get lost in video games.

It’s still pretty much Destiny 2 most of the time for me. Working on getting a warlock to 20 now to join the Hunter I have at 280 and the titan that’s at 272. Kicking myself a little bit for not grabbing the expansion pass three weeks ago on Greenmangaming.com when I could have saved about five bucks. Oh well.

When I’m needing some short breaks from playing Destiny, I’ve got a bunch of single player games on the go that I hop on for 30 minutes or so as the mood strikes. So right now I’m playing Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice; Super Mario Odyssey; Lego Marvel Super-Heroes 2; Uncharted: The Lost Legacy; and I keep meaning to play the second episode of Life is Strange: Before the Storm, but at this point I think I’ll wait to do the last two episodes together.

Since video shares seem to be the thing all the cool kids are doing this week, I’m joining in with a bit of Super Mario Odyssey that I captured for a friend who wanted to check it out (I hope we’re not all going to start doing lootboxes next week, but if the cool kids say it’s cool, I’ll do it too). I was groggy on painkillers, trying to remember the motion controls, and the controllers glitched out as I started off, but it’s a fun little boss fight.

Enjoy your weekend folks.

I am having issues with linking this stuff because of painkillers… yeah… that’s it. That’s the ticket.

Man, that game is so odd, and fun. Lol.

This week: Because you won something, doesn’t mean it’s a win for everyone else and/or necessarily the thing you won is actually a good thing. Just saying.

Also this week: Blade & Soul, and how it it’s drawing me in…which also answers today’s Dailey Grind. As well as WoW, and slowly shifting my gears for 7.3.5…I think that’s what they are calling it And something about TERA and Elin Gunners too!

…so have a great week and weekend folks! <3

Ok. I’m home sick so don’t judge me!

But I made a music video that is a slice of my Wrap Up for this weekend.

So, what will I be doing this weekend aside from coughing up a lung? THIS! (and playing around with my new vid editor)

Reader
Utakata

…BTW, what is the point of the Dailey Dash anyways? o.O

I know it popper up intrusively on your video as it does when I log on to my characters. And RNG’s shiny materials of mysterious reason into my mail box when I activate it. I do store them into my bank, as I am pretty sure they will serve some importance to me eventually. It would be better though if it spammed me costume pieces instead. >.<

Reader
rafael12104

The daily dash is just a reward for logging in, and hanging around a little. 3 spins. Sometimes the rewards are great and others, meh.

Store them, yes. You will need them later for crafting and upgrading etc. Sometimes the Daily Dash has outfits, but not very often.

Sorry I haven’t been around today. Been sleeping alot trying to get rid of this flu bug. I’ll be around tomorrow, err… later on today.

Get well soon then!

…and don’t worry about me. I am currently stuck on a roof of a abandoned house trying to figure out how to turn my quest into Old Man Cho who is stuck on top of a grain silo. /sigh

Note to NC: I know Guild Wars 2 was a degree of success for you guys. But that doesn’t mean that jump puzzles are popular over there as you think they are. >.<

Reader
rafael12104

Lol! I know the quest. And have an easy peasy trick to get you up there.

i’ll show you once I log in. And I’m right there too. Now is the time to group for leveling. You will see what I mean, but the quest there are man and all over the place. Always nice to have someone to share that burden.

I picked up Xenoblade Chronicles 2 on switch. I usually never ever buy a game blind but i saw so much gushing about this comparing it to the golden era for ps2/gamecube “not final fantasy” jrpgs and people saying stuff like “kids finding this under their christmas tree will be like back when we got Grandia as kids” and i had to check it out.
And while down sick i managed to put in 17 hours over 2 days so yeah, pretty hooked on it. Its like what if FFXV had worse graphics/performance but didn’t play like a worse kingdom hearts. With lots of neat mechanics like the titans that people live on walk through the cloud sea and at certain times ‘high cloud’ makes some areas impassable but others open and right from the off lvl.90 monsters can be found so theres a LOT of ‘come back later’ stuff to get into.

Its not big budget amazing jrpg compared to the likes of Persona 5 but its just such a mechanically better game than Square Enixes current “m-maybe a SECOND year of paid season pass dlc will make a feature complete retail release?!?” trainwreck. If you like stuff like Grandia, Phantasy Star and Skies of Arcadia and own a switch its a no brainer.

More blue-tinged adventures in chiss-controlled space for me with SWTOR’s new patch… most likely nothing else until chores are fully taken care of and they never are….

I’ll read a lot though. Putting order in your bookshelves tend to make the odd one you never finished in the spotlight.

This weekend is mostly about RL festivals, but in between I’ve been hanging out at the Harvestmatch festival encore on my social alt in LotRO (that’s her below, looking at Fornost from Amon Raith), and kocking off a few exploration deeds on the side. If I have a little spare time, I’ll probably start a new alt in ESO as well, now that I’ve finally gotten the Morrowind expansion and I can wander in and see how it’s changed in 20 years. Have a great weekend all!

Played some more Warframe and tried out Tower of Time which is a early access RPG with some RTS mixed in there with a super slo mo mode. As an EA game it of course has a few minor ruff edges at this point, but it looks like it is going to be really good when it gets done.

RL tips of the week:
1) Someone at work made brownies with coffee, black pepper, chocolate chips, and black rum – awesome combo.
2) Watched the new Vikings episodes on the History channel website and it streams in 21:9. That combo’d with the sound from my headphones made it even better.

Mostly Conana Exiles, but just kinda dicking around in SP mode and learning how to do things.

Horizon Zero Dawn & FF15 are still on the books … Just spending some time with my PC after I finally figured out that my performance issues have to do with driver problems (the newer drivers cause Windows 7 to pop an exception to having 2 video cards (2x R7 265’s un crossfire) and shut one of them down … Had to roll all the way back to a “16.x” driver after every “17.x” would cause this, but now I my system isn’t crashing every 15 minutes).

SWTOR. Using serial experience boosts so that I can hopefully finish the original story before I croak. But playing again reminds me of all the reasons I stopped playing. Just going to clinch my teeth and try to get to the end of some story.

I bought my nephews a Xbox One last year for Christmas so they could play Minecraft. Those sorts of gifts are a triple win for the giver: you get to be as excited as the kids are for the opening; you easily win “best “; and you get to coast for like five years if you want off that one gift.

I’ll be honest and admit I’m feeling a bit guilty for not logging in to play Destiny 2 at all the last 2 weeks. Quite simply, I’ve found Warframe to be a more engaging and deep experience. At least I can attribute my competent play in Warframe to my hours of shooting practise in D2.

Whist grinding over the weekend for blueprints, mods, et al in Warframe, I’ll have another eye on New Zealand’s (thus far) dominating performance over the West Indies in Wellington. Some good bowling today might earn a quick victory for the Black Caps in only 3 days…instead of the usual 5 for Test Cricket.

My turn to get sick. Some bug, but it could be worse. Always nice to go into a coughing fit in group content. Good times…

So, let’s see. Guildies are demanding I come back to SWTOR to tank the new Ops bosses. Now, now, I doubt it is due to my prowess as a tank. More likely there is a tank shortage and they don’t want to pug. I’ll oblige this time and hold it over their heads. It should net me some lootboxes, right?

And you know what? Me and Uta have been leveling together in BnS. That’s been fun! Already ran our first Heroic dungeon. Her little Force Master is blasting everything in sight. We are just about to get into the thick of it. I’m looking forward to more of that this weekend.

Your honor, I am demanding a Turtle Subpoena. That’s right, I object to Eliot’s courtroom tirade and demand a giant turtle with a long neck and antlers. Here, I have 3 minute clip that includes a couple from BnS.

Wasteland 2, director’s cut. I have a bad tendency not to finish games because I get sidetracked by another one, and this was one of those. So, I’ve jumped back into it and, me being me, of course I started all over from scratch with a new team of desert rangers instead of loading up the old game from a year ago. This time I’m gonna make it all the way to the end before getting distracted! Definitely! Maybe! Possibly! Probably not though.

Starting off with Destiny 2. Hit a bit of a gear wall at 250 which I’ve spent the last few days at. Going to keep plugging at it though but it might be a problem since I don’t want to do raids. I prefer open world content.

Continuing Warframe as always. Leveling up Equinox and the weapons that came out a while back. Got sidetracked by Destiny but now that things are slowing down there I’ll get back to my Tenno shenanigans. Operation Plague Star ended so now I can finally get back to fishing without being mobbed by the infested every few seconds. I over farmed that event though so I might take a break from the Plains for a bit. I can still hear Vey Hek and his GLISTENING MAGNIFICENCE monologue on repeat in my dreams. Going to take a while to get that one out of my head.

Game time is going to be a bit light as I have a new PC on the way for the holidays. Hard to play stuff on this old beast when I know some new hotness is coming in the next few weeks. I have the same problem when an awesome update for a game is coming out soon and I just can’t play the game as it is knowing that all this new stuff is on the way. Gah!

Got a nice black friday deal for a i7-8700k, GTX 1070Ti, and 16Gb RAM. As much as I wanted to go full blast for the 1080Ti I just couldn’t justify the extra $300 for it.

I’m coming from an old i7-4790 and a GTX 1050Ti with 8GB RAM so the difference is going to be significant. I’ve been trying to keep this old beast going as long as I can. I popped the 1050Ti into it last year which was an upgrade from an old 750, so that should give you and estimate of how old this thing is haha. I tried to pop some new RAM into it but my mobo is so old that it doesn’t support DDR4. The old RAM I pulled out was 8GB DDR3 1400mhz lol. Sadly this beasty is at the end and just couldn’t go on. I shall give it a proper burial as it’s been a solid rig over the years. RIP.

Borrowed an idea temporarily from the mighty deekay this week (thank you, good sir!)

I figured that instead of writing overly-long posts about what I’ve been playing, I’d try to show you instead, and hopefully entertain some of you thereby.

So, here’s me running an Agents of Mayhem “lair mission” (kind of like the old “warehouse missions” in City of Heroes).

I’m using the three DLC characters: Johnny Gat and Kinzie Kensington (also codenamed Safeword in AoM) from Saints Row, and the new character, Lazarus, a Moroccan agent who died on a mission, but was subsequently revived with experimental technology.

With Marvel Heroes gone, this game is as close as I get to superhero fun lately. :-)

Note that I’m not any kind of “leet gamer” — but hopefully, this will be fun to watch for all you friendly folks. Presuming my links work! It’s in TWO parts.

Take care of yourselves, and each other, please See you next time!

Cheers,

Absolutely my pleasure!

The game can be tougher at the start, before you get a full roster of agents to choose from, and the various random loot drops which help you tailor their powers to what you like, specifically — BUT the game has a ridiculous number of difficulty settings, so just turn down the heat until you get your characters where you like them.

Also, the “Mulligan” Gremlin Tech (i.e. cheaply craftable rez — you can see the clasped-hands icon for it on the bottom-right of the UI), is pretty much the only Gremlin Tech I carry on missions. Once that recipe drops as loot, missions get a LOT easier. :-)

Cheers,

I lost a very, very good friend of mine unexpectedly to a heart attack this week. We’d played SWTOR all the way through together from the start, and done the same with ESO and were just finishing off the last of the dungeons (Crypt of Hearts II was our last run).

Most of all, however, I remember him for WoW – where he was there all the way from Vanilla through to the last Argus patch. He was a sterling tank, an excellent healer, and an inveterate faller off cliffs. But most of all he was a brilliant friend with a kind streak a mile wide.

So this week I’m playing Warcraft, missing him and remembering all the fun we had.

That it is a shame. But imagine being a real person, dying and then being sent into the next stage of life with another real person remembering them among people they have probably never met. It’s a modern day viking funeral – a way to be immortalized even in a small way. At the end of the day what is better?

You sound like a really good friend yourself. Be proud the two of you were alive together!

Brutal. Yeah I’ve been watching some streams of people trying to fly small ships in atmo and having a bad time of it. Watched one guy try to fly an M50 at full speed trying to find the crashed javelin. It didn’t work very well haha.

And yeah lack of altimeter does hurt. Even in Elite where the planets are lit up on the night side still need an altimeter to land safely. Of course it doesn’t help when trying to land my Conda on a high G world but eh, at least I know the crash is coming when I see those number drop lol.

ye there’s a long way to go. idk if they’re gonna be able to release 3.0 in a good state by xmas which seems to be their plans.

main thing for me right now that is impeding things is the star map sucks in that you can’t know without existing knowledge/an outside guide where POIs are relative to celestial bodies without going there which makes missions hard becuase there isn’t a guide/player made map yet to point them out. ><

I feel Mr Lefebvre (with or without a false moustache, readers choice) might have been licking the “special” amphibians again.

In any case I am playing The Lord of the Rings Online all weekend though I have still yet to find my groove with the Mordor expansion and it is just not clicking with me at this point. So I will mostly be concentrating on levelling my Beorning which I am finding a lot of fun.

Just shy of level 50 and looking at going into Moria but I have a few class related quests I am going to clear up before I go underground for a few weeks.

I do enjoy a good courtroom drama.

After months of playing RIFT there has been a disturbance in the Force. I’m now dabbling in SWTOR again and all because of new content added to the game recently. The new flashpoint? No, not that content. Don’t be silly. The new hairstyles that were added, you noob. Do you even cosplay, bro? So yes, I made a character and started playing again purely because of a new customization option. Go figure.

I’m still playing Destiny 2 as well and that will continue to make up the majority of my gaming time this weekend. I reached level 20 on my Warlock last night and still have a little bit of the campaign to finish up. After that I’ll probaly start another character to try out a different class.
