APB comps players for DDoS-related downtime

Load it up.

APB Reloaded has been victimized by DDoS attackes in recent months, so GamersFirst has gifted two codes for inventory expansion selectors to everyone who has logged into a district since June 26th. A developer forum post says that the firm is working with its mitigation provider to combat the rise in recent attacks. The complimentary codes are “just our way of saying thanks for the help, patience, and comic relief some of you provided,” G1 explains.

DDoS stands for distributed denial of service, which is an attack type that floods the bandwidth or resources of a targeted system.

Sorenthaz BritoBruno Yep. The soundtrack is godlike, and the world is pretty awesome, for a wasteland. But if you go to the forums, my god…
Every forum has it’s shills and it’s doomsayers, but FE’s is more of a pit of lost hope.

BritoBruno  That sucks.  FE is basically the closest thing to a Fallout MMO people will get anytime soon.

That’s lovely a game that barely anyone plays comped their 100 players. The only thing that sounded interesting is that this might come to console.

Your last sentence pretty much sums it up.  Consider the player base such a game attracts and the reasons become crystal clear.

Why in the world would anyone DDOS a game like APB, lol.  It’s not even that widely played, is it?  Especially with GTA Online now it’s hard to imagine many people playing it.
