The Daily Grind: Which MMO does the most with death mechanics?

We die so many times in MMOs that it’s lost all meaning. It’s merely a pause button, perhaps with a slight penalty attached, unless you skew to the more hardcore of the spectrum.

Yet I’m always fascinated with how MMORPGs can occasionally get creative with their death mechanics. Once in a while you’ll encounter a quest that actually requires you to perish and then complete from the afterlife. Personally, I love how The Secret World often tucks a lot of easter eggs away that are only revealed when you’re in the black-and-white anima realm.
