Did you happen to miss out on Fortnite’s in-game event this weekend, where you could watch a scene from the upcoming Star Wars film at the Risky Reels location in the battle royale map? Then allow us to recount the events from those who were there.

After the servers reportedly struggled from the massive load and a delay to account for the technical issues, the event kicked off with the Millennium Falcon flying overhead pursued by several TIE fighters. An aerial battle ensued with laser blasts slamming into several locations on the battle royale map, until the Falcon cleared out the ship and landed next to players. At that point, a holographic Geoff Keighley, a Stormtrooper played by actor Ben Schwartz, and J.J. Abrams appeared on stage to introduce the film clip. After the clip was played, players were asked to choose their favorite lightsaber color and were handed the iconic weapon, which resulted in a massive laser sword fight.

While the clip premiere might be over, the Star Wars transmedia synergy fun continues with First Order blasters and lightsabers featuring new melee combat still available to be discovered on the battle royale map.

Gee, it’d be fun to hack through enemies in Save the World with a lightsaber, wouldn’t it? Man. Imagine that happening.
