Nordic-themed MMO Odin: Valhalla Rising gets a publishing deal with Kakao Games and a gameplay trailer

You’ll never guess the setting for the upcoming MMORPG Odin: Valhalla Rising. Admittedly, it couldn’t be more on the nose unless it were called Muninn’s Mead Adventure or This Game Will Have Vikings In It. Be that as it may, the Norse mythology-themed MMORPG from the Korean studio Lionheart Studio is starting to make waves with a new gameplay trailer and a publishing deal.

Kakao Games has officially taken up publishing duty for the MMORPG, with plans to have it arrive first in its native South Korea. Reports don’t indicate any plans for a global release, but considering Kakao’s history, it seems like it’s a question of “when” instead of “if.” As for the game itself, it’s being developed for PC and mobile devices, touting a UE4-powered world of humans, demons, and gods at war. Players will reportedly be able to visit locations like Midgard, Jotunheim, Niflheim, and Alfheim, and the game will feature a seamless open world.

Lionheart Studio released a new gameplay trailer full of all of the mythical beasties, flashy fighting, and Vikings speaking fluent Korean you can handle (which is no weirder than Vikings speaking fluent English, to be fair). You can watch that after the cut.
