It’s one of my favorite things when someone else does it, but it’s so cringy when I do. It’s when you drop a big fat “MT” — or “mistell” — in your guild or world chat. Sometimes it can be a weird non sequitur, while sometimes it can be mortifying. Especially when you’re trying to romance that cute Elf in the tavern with your freshman-level poetry.
Our MMO guild seems to relish the opportunity to riff over mistells when they happen. The other night, a guildie accidentally sent us all “Now click on the book” with a follow up of “whoops, MT” — and we were off to the races. “You’re not my mother!” someone bellowed. “BUT I CAN’T READ!” said another. “Don’t read from it, that’ll open the gates of hell and end all life! Don’t you do it!” demanded our guild leader.
Anyway, we’ve all done it, so why not admit it? What’s the most embarrassing thing you ever (accidentally) said in MMO chat?
