The Daily Grind: Does the idea of running an MMO shop appeal to you?

Every week on the podcast, you can hear how Bree and I have vastly different interests when it comes to engaging with MMOs. While I’m off adventuring and dying to grues, Bree is diligently gathering mats, crafting goods, and running her own little store. She loves this store, and the only shame is that it doesn’t make her real money because then she could retire next year.

It made me think of the concept of running player shops. Not all MMOs have them, although I suppose you could mentally construct your auction house sales as a “shop” of a sort. Do player-run vendors or shops appeal to you? Would you like to set up your own little virtual enterprise, especially if it wasn’t messy or confusing? Or would you just rather not?

Every morning, the Massively Overpowered writers team up with mascot Mo to ask MMORPG players pointed questions about the massively multiplayer online roleplaying genre. Grab a mug of your preferred beverage and take a stab at answering the question posed in today’s Daily Grind!
