The good news for 2021 in our genre was that there were a lot of MMOs that made it to release. The bad news is that basically none of them seemed to quite hit where it intended, with results ranging from New World having some new game-destroying issue every single week to Crowfall literally getting handed off to another developer at the eleventh hour in the wake of it failing to fully connect. It was a rough ride for basically every one of those titles that released last year, in other words.
That means that several new games from 2021 have entered 2022 trying to pull themselves back together (and in New World’s case, already having one patch that broke things all over again). So which of the games that launched in 2021 do you think has the best shot at getting itself into a stable state in which no one would even jokingly suggest that it was a trash fire? Which MMO seems to you like the most likely to pull itself together and start delivering on its promise?
