The Daily Grind: What’s the longest time you’ve endured an MMO you dislike?

What.

Disliking an MMO is not inherently a commentary on the MMO itself. It’s possible for a game to be very good at what it’s trying to do but “what it’s trying to do” is just not something that appeals to you very much. I feel this way about Destiny 2. I spent an awful lot of time trying really hard to like the game, focusing on the things within it that I wanted to like, only to find myself ultimately sighing and shaking my head each time because I just didn’t find it fun.

And I want to specify that this wasn’t for work. This was just… me on my free time.

Maybe you really want to like a game because of the IP it’s based on. Maybe your friends all think this game is absolutely awesome and you want to play with them. Maybe you have amazing roleplaying in the game but can’t stand even five minutes of actual gameplay. Whatever the reason, there are MMOs we all play despite not liking them very much. So what’s the longest time you’ve endured an MMO you don’t really like?

Every morning, the Massively Overpowered writers team up with mascot Mo to ask MMORPG players pointed questions about the massively multiplayer online roleplaying genre. Grab a mug of your preferred beverage and take a stab at answering the question posed in today’s Daily Grind!
