New World delays Christmas (and its latest season) somewhat

Uh oh: It looks like the Grinch targeted New World as its latest victim because Christmas got stolen from players this week. Amazon Game Studio announced that it’s had to delay today’s Eternal Frost update until it can figure out some unspecified problem.

“Unfortunately during the final rounds of testing we discovered an issue with Eternal Frost that remains unresolved,” the studio said. “Our team is working hard to address the issue and deliver this release as soon as possible. Thank you for your patience and understanding.”

When it arrives, Eternal Frost will kick off this year’s Winter Convergence holiday festivities, incorporate the Glacial Tarn expedition, roll out a seasonal story starring a Knight of the Round Table, and add some new artifacts. Amazon said that later in the season, players should expect to see cross-world expeditions happen via the improved group finder.
