Grand Theft Auto VI’s development reportedly hit by internal delays

It could very well be that Rockstar wishes it had never publicly announced Grand Theft Auto VI at this point. It was bad enough when fans learned that they weren’t going to see that latest entry into the open world crime series until early 2025. But now that announcement is aging like milk as a report surfaced that the title may be coming later than that.

According to Kotaku’s sources, Rockstar Games’ development on the sequel is lagging behind and may not come out until late 2025 or even 2026 at this point. This situation is one of the reasons Rockstar is using to mandate a return-to-office policy this April.

As of right now, Rockstar has yet to confirm any delay or adjusted target window for GTAVI. But considering the sheer amount of interest and attention that this project’s been getting from the community, the studio might feel pressured to make a statement to clarify what’s happening.
