I have a bad habit of judging myself based on my performance in brand-new content. This is, honestly, exceptionally silly and pointless. I’m not judging everyone else by their performance, after all; I understand that this is new content and we are all learning it, so some people are going to drop. But I refuse to let that apply to me, and so I will get very annoyed at myself for not seeing something and avoiding it based on my experience of seeing it happen once before now.

This is an annoyance, but it is also a self-inflicted one. And I am not alone in this! Some people get very annoyed at themselves for not finishing literally brand-new content faster, based on a calendar that only exists inside their heads. Others will tie themselves in knots over getting time-limited drops. We all have annoyances with new content that are not imposed by the game but are instead imposed upon us by our own brains. So what’s your biggest self-inflicted annoyance in new MMORPG content?

Every morning, the Massively Overpowered writers team up with mascot Mo to ask MMORPG players pointed questions about the massively multiplayer online roleplaying genre. Grab a mug of your preferred beverage and take a stab at answering the question posed in today’s Daily Grind!
