Age of Empires Mobile brings massively multiplayer strategy sieges to mobile devices in its global launch

There’s possibly a market out there for a mobile version of a venerated strategy series, right? We’re not really capable of answering these questions; all we know is that Age of Empires Mobile has made its global launch to Apple and Android devices, letting gamers engage in massively multiplayer sieges through the comfort of their mobile phone (which is why we’re even covering this game).

The mobile edition of the RTS promises to blend elements familiar to series vets with all-new and mobile-specific gameplay. Players can command eight different civilizations through multiple single-player modes, form alliances with other players, and engage in the massively multiplayer siege mode that pits those alliances against one another in castle sieges. The game also touts hundreds of troop and hero unit combinations, dynamic interactive terrain, and changing weather conditions.

The game is free-to-play for those who care to take a peek, or there’s the video waiting below if you prefer seeing things on a much larger screen. Assuming you’re reading this story on PC anyway.
