The Daily Grind: What expansion launch day still generates your fondest memories?

You might be surprised to learn this, but not only does my fondest expansion launch day memory not relate to an expansion that has launched this decade, but it actually predates this site. The launch day for Final Fantasy XI: Treasures of Aht Urhgan is still very warm and fresh in my mind; I remember piling onto a boat to reach the new land with so many other people at the same time. It was a unique and special experience, and while I’d be lying to say it’s my favorite expansion of all time, it is the launch day I often find myself thinking back to.

We cannot un-cross a river, and we cannot return to an earlier point in time. The things we experienced in the past will not return, and even on a classic progression server you can’t get the same first experience again. But the memories remain just the same. So what expansion launch day do you have the fondest memories of, whatever you thought of the expansion itself as a whole?
