The Daily Grind: What MMO content feels disproportionately draining to you?

Dungeons back in World of Warcraft’s launch day were not actually all that long. Even given that basically everyone geared and specced badly, the game was not well-balanced, and so on… seriously, these dungeons usually took anywhere between 45 minutes to an hour. (Unless you try to clear Blackrock Depths.) But oh, I found every single one of them so draining that I needed to have a good sit for at least five minutes before doing anything else. There was just something exhausting about them even aside from the irritation of forming a group, so you can imagine how often I sought that content out in WoW Classic.

Oddly, I still find the game’s dungeons kind of draining, even though they are far faster and less obnoxious to clear through compared to back in the day. I couldn’t tell you why, but it’s true. So what MMO content feels disproportionately draining to you? What content is out there that you might recognize is objectively not all that time-consuming but seems as if it just sucks half a year of life out of you every time you do it?

Every morning, the Massively Overpowered writers team up with mascot Mo to ask MMORPG players pointed questions about the massively multiplayer online roleplaying genre. Grab a mug of your preferred beverage and take a stab at answering the question posed in today’s Daily Grind!
