Alongside Starfield turning our attention to the gaming cosmos this fall, No Man’s Sky is enjoying a nice resurgence of popularity. And you know what? Good for it. That was the plucky underdog of the crowdfunding era that’s genuinely earned its following.
Yet this game frustrates me. I love me a good space sim, and on paper, No Man’s Sky has all I want and more from the genre. In practice, however, I’ve bounced off of it every time I’ve tried, feeling lost and overwhelmed with the design and options.
So on behalf of anyone else like me who wants to like NMS but has had difficulty getting on board with it, I’m going to toss this question out to you veterans: What’s the best way to get into this game? At what point did it truly started to click with you?
