All right, who here wants to see cheaters tracked, caught, and punished? Big show of hands, great. Now who here wants to see a cheater named and used as an example to others in a Discord post from the richest games company in the world?

That’s exactly what Tencent did this morning in the Tarisland Discord this morning after it caught a member of a prominent guild cheating during the recent (and public) community speed race events.

“After investigation, it was found that the player Zeramage used cheating software. Due to the severe nature and significant impact, we will nullify the achievements of the team Zeramage is part of in the Asia server Blight Dragon Speed Race. Additionally, the Zeramage account will be banned for 1 month,” the studio says. An unnamed group of additional players have apparently been banned for three days for using “related cheating software,” with a permanent ban hanging over those accounts should they be caught again.

“We also encourage all players to actively report any suspicious cheating behavior and work together to maintain a healthy and positive gaming community,” Tencent concludes.
