Star Wars fans certainly know the importance of May the 4th, but did you know that there’s a counterpart in the Star Trek fandom? It’s called Star Trek Day, and it happens every year on September 8th as fans and creators remember the debut of Star Trek back in 1966.

To commemorate Star Trek Day, Star Trek Online likes to dust off a “historical museum” that takes place around Earth Spacedock and Deep Space Nine. It’s not a huge event, but by touring all of the classic Trek starships, you can get an appreciation of the franchise’s legacy and snag a Historical Documents Expert title. This event will run until September 20th.

In addition to this, STO is gearing up for a week-long Red Alert event that’ll activate five red alerts across the galaxy. This event, which is scheduled for September 12th through the 19th, has a bonus payout in an ultimate tech upgrade and specialization point if you run at least one red alert per day for a few days.
