Skyforge delays timeline for data and launcher hand-off to Music Guru and Innova

A month ago, we were a bit stunned to learn that MMORPG Skyforge had changed hands, moving from MY.GAMES to a US-based company called Music Guru, which had bought the game with plans to publish it through EU-based Innova. The process abruptly began on September 4th, when Steam players were told they had to do nothing as it’d be taken care of under the hood, while MY.GAMES launcher players would have to port their data to Innova and swap to the new launcher.

While the studios told players they had a year to actually make the data swap, October 2nd – today – was meant to be the hard date for switching to the new client, meaning that to keep playing at any point between now and next September, MY.GAMES launcher players would’ve needed to switch already. However, that timeline has apparently been delayed.

According to the game’s official Discord, the launcher switchover isn’t ready yet, and there’s no new ETA for when it will be. That means you can keep right on playing through the MY.GAMES launcher for now.

“The transfer process has taken longer than planned. Previously, we specified October 2, 2024 as the final date for completing the transfer from My.Games servers to Innova servers. This timeline has now been extended. The exact dates of transfer completion will be published at a later date. Until the transfer process is complete, you will be able to log in to the game as before via the My.Games Launcher. We apologize for any inconvenience caused.”

The announcement isn’t on the official website as we type this, but we assume at some point the devs will tell players outside of Discord too. Either way, you probably should get your data moved sooner rather than later.
