The Daily Grind: Do you have any completionist characters in MMOs?

When I play MMOs, it seems wrong to me to skip around in the game, bypass quests and zones, and leave areas littered with unfinished tales. I love me a clean map; it not only checks off all of the boxes but represents a portion of the game that I’ve experienced to its fullest.

To that effect, sometimes I create full completionist characters with the intent to slowly but thoroughly take them through all of the (soloable) content in the game. These characters rarely if ever make it to the endgame, but I do enjoy the additional challenge of hunting down every last quest in a zone and getting all of the achievements done.

Do you ever do a completionist run on a character in your MMO? Does your personality and playstyle support that or find yourself running away in terror from such a notion?

Every morning, the Massively Overpowered writers team up with mascot Mo to ask MMORPG players pointed questions about the massively multiplayer online roleplaying genre. Grab a mug of your preferred beverage and take a stab at answering the question posed in today’s Daily Grind!
