It was a surprisingly big patch week for the MMORPG genre: Elder Scrolls Online pushed out Update 44, Elite Dangerous launched its Ascendancy patch, and Albion Online dropped its quarterly release, Horizons.
Meanwhile, PlanetSide 2 merged its EU servers, we took a deep-dive into Wayfinder, Final Fantasy XIV previewed its Crossroads patch, Path of Exile 2 delayed its early access into December, and New World tried to convince people that MMO group dungeons are somehow an extension of the solo experience.
And disturbingly, we found out that indie MMO Embers Adrift hasn’t gotten a dime from its payment processor since June, prompting the team to push the game F2P on Steam while it stabilizes.
Read on to catch up with the very best of this week’s MMO news and opinions today as every Sunday (
since 2010!) in Massively Overpowered’s
