Eternal Tombs, the developing sandbox MMORPG that leans on the use of GMs to launch in-game events, is wrapping up what it’s calling a successful year of testing and development while also offering a little sneak peek at some of the things developer Triune Studios is working on for the opening half of next year.

Test builds for the MMORPG brought in 5,000 total players to date who created over 10,000 characters, all while the studio attacked multiple bugs, revamped systems, and built multiple new events for players to enjoy. “We’re thrilled that our indie MMORPG continues to forge ahead and make great progress,” the studio writes. “We hope that you’ll continue to jump in and dive into the world of Mithir as we continue our testing.”

On the subject of what’s next, new testing is planned to begin sometime in either late February or early March, at which point players can expect 10 new zones to explore along with some secret locations. Details are a bit sparse on what these locations offer, but names like Catacombs of Varendale, Wretched Hills, and Thornmore Forest probably paint a reasonably good mental picture. For now, Triune is both thankful and moving onward.
