It's almost like getting what you were promised, only exactly not.
We’ve updated below with the statement issued to us by Digital Extremes.

According to former n-Space artist Ben Leary, n-Space is closing down following a number of layoffs “over the past few months.”

We’ve reached out to PR to determine whether and how this closure will impact Sword Coast Legends, which was the product of a Digital Extremes and n-Space partnership. As of February, the teams had announced plans to take SCL to consoles this spring.

3/30/2016: Digital Extremes has communicated to Massively OP the following statement, which suggests Sword Coast Legends will continue on:

We are deeply saddened by the closing of n-Space. Staying alive as a mid-sized independent developer in the games industry is no small feat. Their passion for creating games never faltered and their dedicated team has ended on the high note of completing the console version of Sword Coast Legends. We are working hard with them to realize as much as we can for their team during this difficult time and encourage players to keep an eye on the official website for more details on the launch of Sword Coast Legends on Xbox One and PlayStation 4.
