Gorge your mind on these World of Warcraft Patch 7.3 videos

Once the gates of the World of Warcraft Patch 7.3 test servers opened up, no secret or scrap of information was safe from the prying eyes of the playerbase. Of course, the curiosity is understandable, as this update will take players to the planet of Argus — and beyond — for the first time in the game’s history.

Icy Veins has been dutifully documenting many aspects and areas of the patch, and we’ve selected a few of them to share with you after the break. What do the new invasion points look like? Will Argus’ zones show off visual variety? What kind of mounts can players collect? Find out below!

I like the mounts, but I’m feeling very meh about WoW recently.
I think the class halls and artifact weapons really turned me off for this expansion.

Will Argus’ zones show off visual variety?

Probably not. When asked why somewhere as lore/interesting as Argus did not get its own expansion, Ian said diversity was a big issue. Argus has been demon HQ for millenia. The world is fel-green and full of demons. It would be a stretch to have the zone of cute cat people or pretty flowers.

Thing is, the deeper we get into this rabbit hole of a Warcraft lore, the less diversity in geography we should expect. I mean, we’re fighting space demons at this point. There is no going back to green pastures, and colourful landscapes. Unfortunately, it’s the nature of the beast.

We’ve officially been fighting “space demons” since wows first expansion. Its not like with Legion, its suddenly reached this zenith of being outrageous.

Right, but i mean in the grand scheme of themes. We’ve done a crap ton of stuff on Azeroth. Most (if not all) villains have been dealt with. Space demons was the last threat standing with Sargeras being at the end of that tunnel. After that, i don’t see any cataclysmic threats against Azeroth any more. I’m hoping that we end up having an adventurous expansion as opposed to “saving the world” type theme.

I think they are suffering from the same thing DC movies are suffering from. This feeling that there needs to be some god like massively super powered villain for us to face off against. It lacks a feeling of being really tangible.

Im fine with them taking things back to places we’ve already been to, or similar looking areas (there are still several locations on the map that are still not used.). Hell, id even like it if they level scaled all the sub-legion zones in the game to work like the legion zones, but thats a different topic all together.

Its why I hope that the next expansion truly is about naval content, pirates, us possibly getting our own ship to explore with, etc etc.

Well, we are fighting space demons in 7.3. The 8 rumors are neither space nor demons and the lore place has never been seen in WoW, so they can have whatever sort of Cow and Cat people and interesting beasts for Nesingwary and I to skin that they want.

Dr Pangloss and I think we could get an 8 announcement next month.

What is anything anymore in a game that is 15 years old and artists need to keep adding stuff to it?

Simple answer: A demon thing fit to use the gryphon animations.

There are motorcycles, yes. And helicopters. Hell, they had flying aircraft carriers until this expansion.

Is this game still goofy? Orcs on Harleys, etc.

Most people, including many of my family members, think Orcs in general are goofy and or childish. And millions play a game with both. One has to come to places like here where one is goofy and one not.
