The Daily Grind: Which MMO is aging the best?

While we demand and expect playing perfection from MMOs on launch day, that’s a pretty hilarious stance to take when one looks at all other online games at release. Fortunately, online games tend to get better over time simply due to ongoing development of a live title.

It’s actually pretty neat to return to a game that’s been out for four, five, or more years because while it may not be the hottest trend, you’ll end up finding a title that’s full of content and benefiting from a lot of polish and refinement.

So today’s question is simple: Which MMO is aging the best and why?

Every morning, the Massively Overpowered writers team up with mascot Mo to ask MMORPG players pointed questions about the massively multiplayer online roleplaying genre. Grab a mug of your preferred beverage and take a stab at answering the question posed in today’s Daily Grind!

World of Warcraft is aging the best but they are facing a massive lack of content issue once people clear Hellfire Peninsula and they clearly need a 2nd team, one team needs to focus on providing ongoing new content and the other to work on new expansions + new features and or graphic enhancements.

syberghost STO actually has the look, feel and playability of a game developed in the late 90s so on that basis it’s aged pretty damn good :D

I don’t feel competent to answer, because I haven’t played any themepark recently, but I’m quite surprised with these answers. Basically everyone seemed to read the question as “which game has the most subs”…. I don’t know guys, do you really play the game only to brag that it has the most players?

Dunno recently we killed a lot of cruisers with frigates, and our ewar frig fleets are always welcomed with the applause in our coalition fleets. Stop playing solo in a mmorpg maybe?

EVE Online community is quite probably the best in mmorpg world. If you however feel entitled to be a special snowflake in one way or another then yes, it can become the worst community. For you ;)

Responses to this kind of question tend to devolve into “What is your favourite MMO that you are currently playing?”
To that end: probably EVE and GW2. The former because, well, obviously. The latter because it keeps feeling better and better every time I play it.
