The universe will be yours to explore next summer, as No Man’s Sky has been dated for June 2016.
While the release date was announced during Paris Games Week for the PlayStation 4 version, Hello Games has stated in the past that the title will come out simultaneously for both console and PC.
No Man’s Sky will be a massive interstellar exploration title in which players can travel to over 18 quintillion procedurally generated planets while building up their starships and interacting with others. You can check out its Paris Games Week trailer, narrated by Rutger Hauer, after the jump.

Silverlock pid Samizdat “has never once shown a totally random world.” Actually I’ve seen 2 videos where a random world is chosen, the live demo at E3 and when they demoed the game to IGN.
gorkoswow I don’t think there will be alot more to it than “explore and build up space ships” Its definitely going to be a love it or hate it game, but the real draw is its not “fake” exploration like most games because it procedurally generated you can actually be the first person to see something no one else has seen. If that doesn’t make you at least a little bit excited then you will more than likely fall into the “hate it” category. I, on the other hand, am all aboard the hype train! Choo Choo! :D
So cool even if the colors look odd…(me eyes)
I am going back to play Rebel Galaxy until then.
Ssoooooo exciiiteeeed! Looong strung-oouut woooords!
Oh, man. I want to play this so much. And while I don’t particularly need narrative in the game (but holy crap would space archeology be amazing), I hope there are narratives attached. Tell me the history of some particular system that maybe no one has found yet, but do it in an article on the home site or an ebook or something. That’s where I find human-crafted worlds to be more interesting than procedurally created ones. I would want to still get some background on particularly interesting worlds somehow.
Armsbend The novelty? what about the reality?
BigJohnny1982Â Only the media is calling it an mmo.
This game is the only reason to own a console imo, what Elite: Dangerous should have been.

Still skeptic. Whats the game play ? just saying explore and build up space ships tells me nothing
