Moonlight Blade is using famous fight choreographers

Moonlight Blade, the kung fu MMO developed by Chinese megacorp Tencent, will be published in South Korea by Nexon, according to Steparu. Famed martial arts choreographer Woo-ping Yuen (The Matrix, Drunken Master, Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon) and director Chen Kexin were hired to “bring film-like details to the game.”

Steparu says that due to the vast world and the martial arts, Moonlight Blade “is one of the few Chinese games that’s actually worth trying out and playing.”

Zarconius The one defining thing I liked about Age of Wushu was my character did stuff while I was offline.

Kayera Armsbend Being successful doesn’t translate in being good. Silkroad Online was a botters paradise with no depth. Ragnarok was actually good. I couldn’t stand Lineage’s shallowness either, the combat is garbage. Can’t say anything about Maple Story.
Flyff, Priston Tale, etc etc. They were fun games, but to say that they revolutionized anything is a stretch. They ‘were poor click to combat mmos with a incredibly lack of depth at that. Most of the skills were “This one hits harder”, and CC was pretty inexistent. Mass combat in those games were most a gangbang.

I guess Korea needs another nation’s development stature to bash as well.  Don’t get too cocky though – Korea is still king of poor games.

I watched some of Steparu gameplay videos and some pictures, and this game is, litterally, 9Dragons with a better engine. I will try it.

I thought Wushu was a good MMO in a lot of ways, but I got overwhelmed by the total immersion in chinese names and language.  I hope they localize it a bit more than that game did.   But it was pretty, and rock solid, ran silky smooth even when it launched and people were crowding the servers.
