ArcheAge is seriously cracking down on cheaters

Heads up, ArcheAge cheaters: Your days are numbered.

“For the past months, our team has been hard at work at creating better methods to accurately and quickly detect players who have been playing unfairly,” Trion Community Manager Celestrata told forumgoers yesterday. “This new detection has already been enabled for a few weeks, and we’ve done this without adding any new or invasive security software to your play experience. […] Our first wave of bans on botters, gold farmers, and other types of suspicious accounts is now complete. You should all notice many less automated accounts in your travels.”

Celestrata says that “generally solid community members” have also been tracked using cheat programs and basically gives them their very last warning.

“Anyone who continues to run the detected hack or bot programs will be subject to a permanent ban, regardless of their tenure in ArcheAge. Please note that we can also see when alternate accounts are associated with other main accounts, so making use of these tools on a throwaway account will lead to disciplinary action on your main. We don’t like to ban anyone who’s playing and enjoying the game, but fair game play for the legitimate community members always has to be and always will be our top priority.”

tl;dr quit being cheating cheaterheads.

I got banned for being a bot. they wouldn’t even bother to test if I had a third party system cause they would have fucking realized they were wrong. They aren’t checking for hacking systems cause if that’s true I wouldn’t have gotten hit. “run the detected hack or bot programs will be subject to a permanent ban, regardless of their tenure in ArcheAge” – trion worlds I got banned for crafting too much and and reselling too much on AH manually. this company is lieing to the community and deserves to crumble like its going to. My suggestion to all past and present players is to straight quit and go find a better mmo.

“Stop or I’ll say stop again!”!. So the worst of the worst cheaters who already have multiple laundering and tosser accounts anyways  will still get to keep all their ill-gotten gains. Typical TRINO for you right there. Banning people at this point is kind of pointless anyways. I don’t know a single person will even touch the game much less actually play it or ANY game with TRINO’s name on it.

ArcheAge pretty much singlehandedly destroyed TRINO’s reputation as a publisher with any sense of morality or fair play. I’ll never forgive them for ripping me off (for real as in they actually ripped me off IRL) and for releasing the game in the state if was in with fully functional Russian hacks all converted and ready to go for launch day and for refusing to ban exploiters and allowing them to keep their gains after multiple duping bugs came to light.

BritoBruno Qarran  Indeed.  Mired in the hacks and mismanagement is a good game.  But alas for Trion, my disappointment is easily remedied with another game.  That is something that they seem to forget.

Estranged      Back at launch the damn game didn’t encrypt the data from point A to point B. The Glyph launcher also suffered from that stupidity btw. (shudder) If they’ve not bothered to fix some of this hacks/cheats are easy to pull off in a man in the middle attack sort of way. Stupid, lazy shit that is unacceptable from anyone working with data, whether customer data, game data or whatever.

I’m just sort of sadly amused that they’re finally really doing something about it after allowing all the crap to drive off their more ethical players who just wanted a good sandbox mmorpg home. I still can’t be bothered to play anything from Trion after the AA bullshit at launch.

Wandris Nordavind This movie needs to be watched at least once a year for general mental maintenance.

Please explain why this game is so susceptible to hacks and cheating versus other MMOs.  Is there more incentive, due to the nature of trading and such?

N3rdygam3r666 AA’s labor system is not like BDO energy. Unless you’re a subscriber you can forget about crafting in AA.
