WRUP: What I really meant edition

Unbreak my heart.

Every so often, people seem to be curious about what I really meant when I said something. The answer is usually “what I said,” but for the purposes of this feature, let me remove all doubt whatsoever about what I meant when I said certain publicized things recently.

For example, when I said that Transformers Universe killed the dinosaurs, what I meant was that it literally killed the dinosaurs. I mean that the hastily repurposed MOBA-only-not-really created a quantum tunnel through space and time to incite the K-T extinction event. How did it do that? I don’t know. I am not a scientist. But it did happen. By the same token, when I claimed that playing Master x Master would cure you of a variety of ailments, I meant that playing the game will immediately and magically remove such afflictions as stuffy nose, mild colds, hangnails, and fatigue. How? I don’t know. I’m also not a doctor.

So if you’re wondering what I mean, usually it’s safe to assume that it’s not hidden between the lines, it is the actual lines. For example, right now it’s time for What Are You Playing. That means you should read our weekend plans below and share yours in the comments. See? Not being subtle.

Andrew Ross (@dengarsw): Hoping to do Pokemon Go if the region lock opens up in Japan (this truly is my nightmare!). Have some prep work I have to do though, so aside from Hearthstone and possibly Overwatch, I am hoping to hit Landmark and do more than dig… but who am I kidding, I am disgustingly addicted to making holes!

Brianna Royce (@nbrianna, blog): I’ll be besieged by family for the next couple of weeks, so I am expecting my playtime to come to a crashing halt, but I’ve loaded up my phone with some goodies. I have a couple of Android-based survival games on there, plus Little Healer. It’s sort of like playing an MMO, right? Just keep making the bars go up.

Eliot Lefebvre (@Eliot_Lefebvre, blog): Most of the weekend will be taken up with my usual suspects of Final Fantasy XIV, Final Fantasy XI, and World of Warcraft. I’ve got some single-player projects I need to get to work on as well, but that’s taking a bit of a backset for the moment. Or maybe I’ll just wind up gorging myself on Transformers fanfic until my next couple of new toys arrive, that sounds fun too.

Justin Olivetti (@Sypster, blog): I would like to try out Riders of Icarus at some point, but right now my attention is focused on Star Trek Online: Agents of Yesterday. Time travel weirdness for the win!

MJ Guthrie (@MJ_Guthrie, blog): I’ll be out of the country for the weekend, so all gaming is dependent on hotel wifi – is it free and does it work? The time I can game will be totally consumed with dino taming and building in ARK: Survival Evolved, with breaks to go kill Guardians and Gatekeepers in The Secret World‘s anniversary event.

Thatchefdude, patron: This weekend I’ll be hitting up some Xbox One exclusives, as I just purchased a system and got of ton of great games in its summer sale. Going to try to finish the Halo 5 campaign and maybe play some Gears of War HD Remaster. A little The Elder Scrolls Online: The Dark Brotherhood or FFXIV if I have the time, as well.

Pierre, patron: Final Fantasy XI again and again. I don’t know why I love this game when its younger brother FFXIV bores me to hell in no time. A matter of taste probably. I have also decided to go through the solo campaigns of Starcraft II that I never played; I have three of them to enjoy, as I bought all three installments (Wings of Liberty, Heart of the Swarm, and Legacy of the Void). The human campaign is a treat so far. Enjoy your weekend MOP readers; cheers!

Your turn!
