Has Villagers and Heroes bitten off more than it can chew? The fantasy MMO is preparing to roll out a massive, top-down revamp to the game with the upcoming Starfall expansion. As part of this, the whole character class system is getting an overhaul to help with variety and power problems.

In a press release sent to the far reaches of the world, Mad Otter Games explained that every class is now going to contain 12 passive talents divided between three specs. As players ding a new level, they’ll be given a point to dump into the talent of their choice. A 35-point-infused talent then morphs into an ultimate talent, giving players a huge boost in battle.

The studio provided an example of how this works: “If you play as a Wizard, you can unlock a talent under the Fire specialization called Incinerate. This talent makes enemies hit by your single-target fire spells deal 10% less damage. If you level that talent completely, you unlock the Ultimate Pyromaniac. This Ultimate lets you cast fireballs without using any mana.”
