Valiance Online makes progress with its female heroes

Filling out that superhero spandex isn’t just a job for the guys, although so far in Valiance Online, it’s certainly seemed that way. It won’t be for long, however, as the team is making significant progress toward getting female characters up and running on the test servers.

“The female character has been reskinned to the new character base rig that the male character uses,” the team reported. “We now have a singular character setup structure for all characters. We also now have new locomotion animations specific to the female character.”

Now where is our tiny, furry, anthropomorphic heroes with leadership experience? Mole Manager to the rescue!

Regarding feedback on the female model… or the game in general, please remember this is the alpha test and the game is far from done. But regardless, your comments are definitely appreciated. Thanks!

Since we in the comments already seem focused on the boobs I will also, they are stress testing the creation engine (and skin tight spandex or whatever you want to call it I don’t wear skin tight anything). If it can handle the biggest boobs their slider will permit then surely the small boobs won’t break anything right?

Also, to be fair to comic book hero fantasy, there is significant historic precedence for comic book characters with horribly drawn and tortured looking “sexy” bodies. Like, if we can’t have our Rob Liefeld inspired humans in a super hero game then how can we be heroes at all?

I feel like Valiance Online is the one of the trio of indie super hero MMOs that has maybe shown the least and perhaps is not as far in development as the others (maybe this is a misunderstanding on my part). There is plenty visible in those images that can be easily criticized, but I wouldn’t be too harsh on them. I mean the hair isn’t even textured yet. They know this peek isn’t going to dazzle people with graphics stuff.

A lot of games seem to forget to even develop or show off their female playable characters completely for far too long.

Those boobs make Korean MMO’s look tame. They should spend less time on that and more on better faces.

There’s also something really awkward about the rest of the body and that skin paint is definitely not flattering.

Given the painted-on clothing I’m sue “locomotion animations” is code for jiggle physics. Only thing worse than emphasizing the breasts that much would be pretending the wouldn’t be bouncing all over the place given the total lack of support.

I’d call that a catsuit actually.

I’m all good with it as long as I can be Carl the Cosmic Super Caddy and battle my arch nemesis, Mole Manager.

Keep up the good work Ship!

Hmmm… not the worst ever, but I have to wonder what material that is supposed to be (about the only things that might work are: Paper mache, plastic wrap, and latex. That fit is… not normal.

Spandex doesn’t stick to the body like that. That’s more like body paint–unless the spandex has “breast pockets” that literally conform to the shape of a breast like some kind of breast condom.

That all said, yes, it’s nice that female characters are included. Sad that some mmos don’t include female characters at all or they are merely an afterthought.

On speed skaters, they’re less dimply. o.O
