OrbusVR has launched a Steam demo so you can try it out for free

Every time we cover OrbusVR, I wish once again that I owned a virtual reality headset (and also lived in a child-free zone where said equipment wouldn’t be immediately destroyed). The game has come a long way from its indie origins. And now it’s trying to expand its audience to suit, as developer Orbus Online has this week announced a demo version that’ll allow would-be players to check out the otherwise-buy-to-play title for free. The demo lets gamers zip up to level 10 on every class in the game.

“While Demo users can continue to play the game after reaching level 10 on all eight classes, their characters won’t gain any additional XP, halting in-game progress and keeping higher-level zones and activities realistically off-limits,” the studio writes. “Demo players are also restricted from using the Auction House and trading with other players. […] Since it does not have a time limit, you can really take your time to explore the overworld, check out all in-game activities and make an informed decision before purchasing.”

Worth a note is that the demo is Steam-only, but your progress should “carry over no matter where you purchase the game, whether that be on Steam or the Oculus Store.”
