Yesterday, November 7th, was N7 Day, an internet holiday to celebrate the Mass Effect series. As one would expect, developer BioWare has a particularly keen interest in commemorating the series and has done so the only way it kind of can right now: with some impressive-looking skins for the Javelins of Anthem.
Each Javelin has gotten dressed up in Mass Effect costumes of several of the series’ races. There’s an Asari look for the Storm, a Turian skin for the Ranger, a Quarian Interceptor, and a Krogan Colossus. Each of these can be nabbed from the in-game store for 61,000 coins or about $10 of real-life cash. There’s also a “Shepard Shuffle” emote and the “Andromeda Initiative” Javelin wrap available as well.
Whether you see these new cosmetics as the last desperate flailings of a very troubled game, an awesome way to mark a tentpole RPG series, or kind of depressing that such quality work is being done on a rather anemic online shooter, you have to admit that these new skins are pretty gorgeous. We’ve posted images of them below and even have some thoughts on how Anthem could right its ship.
