A new challenge is on the horizon for players of Remnant: From the Ashes. Assuming you’re willing to pay the ten spot for it. Perfect World’s co-op shooter is getting a little more brutal with the Swamps of Corsus DLC, which is introducing a new survival mode that plops players into the game with only a pistol and some scrap. Players simply must survive as long as possible, traveling to random areas via World Stones to find new gear and get an edge. Enemies are hard, death is permanent, and bullets will be your new friend.
The DLC is also bringing the titular Swamps of Corsus biome, which features new quests and events, new gear, and new enemies to take down. It’s all arriving to PC on Tuesday, April 28th, for a cool $9.99, with a launch on consoles later.
If it’s been a while since you’ve heard about Remnant, that’s understandable; the shooter launched in August 2019, which was then described by one of Bree’s guildmates as “Hellgate, but in a good way” and described by Larry in his PAX 2018 romp as something he “enjoyed […] well enough” despite its frustrating challenge. Considering this DLC is adding a permadeath roguelike mode, “frustrating challenge” seems to be what players are hungry for.
